Translink acted as the advisor to the majority shareholder of DEC Energies on the sale to HomeServe
Translink Corporate Finance advised the majority shareholder of DEC Energies, on the sale to HomeServe. DEC Energies, based in St-Geours-de-Maremne (40), a specialist in climate engineering and in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) in the Landes, the Basque Country, and southern Gironde, is joining the HomeServe group, a specialist in home energy transition. Founded in 1996 by Jean-Marc Darricau, the company has become a true reference in its sector over the years, particularly for its expertise in heat pumps. This is a strategic acquisition for HomeServe, aimed at strengthening its presence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and enabling DEC Energies to continue its local growth by leveraging the resources of a major group.
Since 1996, DEC Energies has specialised in home thermal comfort and climate engineering, offering individuals and professionals comprehensive support for their projects, from study and installation to maintenance and repair. With three locations in St-Geours-de-Maremne, Mont-de-Marsan, and Biscarrosse, the company generates a turnover of between €8 million and €11 million. For over 28 years, DEC Energies has continuously evolved and innovated to meet new market challenges and the ever-changing needs of its clients, under the leadership of its founder, Jean-Marc Darricau, an experienced entrepreneur and engineer. As early as 2004, he was among the first in the region to offer heat pumps. Since 2017, DEC Energies has strengthened its supply strategy by creating “Comptoir du Climat,” a mini logistics platform that includes warehouses, loading docks, and advanced preparation. This setup significantly improves efficiency, responsiveness, and operational optimisation, enhancing service quality for customers.
HomeServe supports DEC Energies in expanding its energy transition solutions
Through this acquisition, DEC Energies enters a new phase of growth alongside HomeServe with a shared ambition: to offer a comprehensive multi-energy portfolio, accelerating the adoption of solar energy, pellet stoves, and large-scale energy renovation. To achieve this, DEC Energies will leverage the Group’s expertise in marketing, communication, customer relations, human resources, legal, IT, and external growth strategy.
Jean-Marc Darricau, CEO and founder of DEC Energies, stated, “I am proud to see this company, to which I have dedicated so much energy and passion, take a new step in its development today. Our activities are thriving, and we have built trusting relationships with our clients by knowing every machine installed at their premises. The choice of HomeServe to support DEC Energies in this transition was a natural one, as it allows us to preserve both our identity and technical expertise while opening new opportunities for our teams.”
Jacques-Henri Rième, Partner at Translink CF in France, said, “This is the fourth transaction we have completed in the electrical engineering/climate engineering sector in 24 months. Our knowledge of buyers in this industry allowed us to conduct a very smooth sales process, and HomeServe naturally stood out among the other potential buyers. This sale is more akin to a handover and aligns with the operational continuity desired by both the seller and the buyer.”
For HomeServe, this acquisition reinforces its presence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, a region where the group had already established a foothold with the acquisition of Cerise Energies in June. Nearly 9,000 clients in the Landes, Basque Country, and southern Gironde will benefit from new solutions to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, as well as the maintenance and repair of their heating systems, plumbing, and electrical circuits. HomeServe offers assistance services for plumbing, electrical, gas, locksmithing, and pest management issues.
Through this acquisition, HomeServe reaffirms its ambition to expand nationwide and aims to integrate more than 20 businesses specialising in thermal comfort and solar photovoltaics within the next five years. This strategy seeks to strengthen its accessibility to clients by offering a wide range of solutions while maintaining a strong local presence and identity.
