VIRTEX Enterprises (“VIRTEX”), a leading vertically integrated electronic manufacturing services provider headquartered in Austin, Texas, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Altron Inc. (Altron). Translink acted as advisor to the seller.
The Company’s single-facility location near Minneapolis has allowed it to develop long-term relationships with key defense and medical customers in the region. With over 45 years of service within the EMS industry, Altron is known for its superior quality manufacturing of mission-critical products in the high-mix, low-volume production environment.
Brad Heath, CEO of VIRTEX, commented, “Altron extends VIRTEX’s geographic reach further into the Midwest medical, aerospace and defense corridor, enhancing our relationships with key customers who we service in other regions. Altron also brings expanded expertise in medical device manufacturing to the VIRTEX platform, which will be beneficial for our existing customers. Adding Altron to the VIRTEX platform enhances the services and capabilities we can offer to both Altron’s and VIRTEX’s existing customers. It also provides disaster recovery capability for customers requiring 21 CFR 820 medical device certification, or IPC 610/J-STD Space and Satellite certification, increasing their security in the event of a local catastrophe.”
Jim Merritt, Director of Sales of Altron, noted, “Being a part of VIRTEX gives our customers the added scale, financial stability and vertical manufacturing services of engineering design, wire and cable harness and precision machining services, as well as geographic locations where we have been unable to penetrate before. We look forward to creating opportunities and job growth as part of the VIRTEX family.”
