Translink Corporate Finance announces the acquisition of three companies from listed Portuguese IT company Novabase, namely; Novabase Digitial TV EURL (France), DTV Research (Portugal) as well as 49% stake in Novabase Digitial IT GmbH, by Russian “GS-Group”, an investment and industry holding. Translink acted as financial adviser to Novabase.
The GS-Group was founded in Russia by a group of private individuals. The Russian headquarters of the holding is located in St. Petersburg; the international office is in Zug, Switzerland. The GS Group holding includes the General Satellite brand producing consumer electronics and digital set-top receivers; manufacturing in the field of microelectronics and nanotechnology as well as Technopolis GS operating within the field of science and innovation. All these activities are under the umbrella of the international brand GS Group. The products and technological solutions from the GS Group are used worldwide in the largest satellite broadcast projects. The total amount of subscribers using receiver equipment developed and produced by GS Group exceeds EUR 12 million.
Over its 24-year history, Novabase SGPS SA, has become the Portuguese leader in IT. It has been listed on the Euronext Lisbon stock exchange since 2000. The turnover in 2013 was EUR 217 million, with business in more than 40 countries and 9 different time zones. The France based company Novabase Digital TV EURL acted under the umbrella of Novabase and develops digital TV platforms as well as DTV Research, the Portugal based company provides product development and IT research and development services in digital TV sector, and Novabase Digital TV, GmbH, the Germany based manufacturer of semiconductor solutions.
