Translink Corporate Finance acted as the lead advisor of Bartec Municipal Technologies on its sale to Skoyen Software
Translink Corporate Finance™ in the United Kingdom advised the shareholders of Bartec Municipal Technologies (BMT), a leading provider of integrated software, professional services and hardware for local authorities, on its sale to Skoyen Software (Skoyen).
Founded more than 30 years ago, BMT, under the stewardship of Colin Webb (Founder) and Tim Hobbs (CEO), has become a market leader in municipal technology, helping more than 100 local authorities modernise frontline services through its flagship software platform, Collective. The business has built a 30% market share and maintains a 99% customer retention rate, underlining its strong reputation within the sector.
Skoyen was founded by Nic Humphries, Executive Chairman of Hg, and Paul Birks, a serial technology investor. The business has a strong track record of growing category-leading technology companies, including Visma, IRIS and IFS.
The transaction sees BMT partner with Skoyen, a long-term investor in business-critical B2B SaaS companies, positioning the business for its next phase of growth through investment in AI-first technology, improved service efficiency and the development of new services to exceed customer expectations.
The acquisition marks the next stage of BMT’s growth, providing the business with additional investment and strategic support to accelerate innovation and expand its market presence.
The Translink Corporate Finance advisory team consisted of Matt Scott, Hamish Morrison, Aaron Lowery, Luke Harrower and Charlotte Chaplin, with support from its specialist Transaction Tax and SPA Advisory teams.
