Translink Corporate Finance in France and Norway acted as the M&A advisor to Visma, Europe’s leading provider of mission-critical software, on its investment in MyCompanyFiles, a prominent French platform specialising in secure document and information exchange for accounting firms. Translink’s cross-border team was led by Marc Irisson, Arthur Libier, and Boris Muller at Translink France, and by Leif Larsen and Nora Håberg at Translink Norway.
This is Visma’s third strategic acquisition in France in 2024, and the third acquisition since 2022 where Translink was the selected advisor. The investment further solidifies Visma’s position as an ambitious market challenger in the French accounting and professional services sectors.
Merete Hverven, CEO of Visma, says, “We are delighted to welcome MyCompanyFiles to the Visma family and continue our rapid growth in France. We want to be the preferred provider of smart, efficient, and secure software to accounting firms, which is another important step on the way.”
MyCompanyFiles is renowned for its secure and user-friendly platform that facilitates seamless document and data sharing between businesses and their clients, ensuring GDPR compliance.
Charles-Olivier Diebold, CEO of MyCompanyFiles, says, “MyCompanyFiles has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative solutions that meet the complex needs of organisations managing extensive document and data exchanges. Joining Visma enables us to enhance our offerings and expand our reach, driving digital transformation for our clients.”
MyCompanyFiles to leverage Visma’s technological expertise and extensive resources for growth
MyCompanyFiles’ further growth will be supported by Visma and its highly tech-oriented organisation, rooted in its significant expertise in cybersecurity and new technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning. The partnership will enable MyCompanyFiles to leverage Visma’s financial capacity and vast resources, benefiting from the backing of a group with over 180 companies.
“We are ecstatic about collaborating with Visma, a forward-thinking organisation that shares our commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions. This move will allow us to continue to be at the centre of data and document flows and simplify exchanges between our customers and their customers,” added Diebold.
Accelerating growth
In 2022, Visma, with the support of Translink Corporate Finance, entered the French market through the acquisition of cloud accounting provider Inqom. This initiative marked the beginning of an ambitious strategy to build a comprehensive suite of products that enhance productivity and efficiency for accounting firms and other professional services. The momentum continued into 2024, as Visma acquired accounting software provider Chaintrust followed by MyCompanyFiles, both with advisory expertise from Translink, further strengthening its position in the market. In addition, Teledec also joined Visma in January. Following these strategic additions, Visma now expects its French operations to generate revenues exceeding 25 million euros in 2024, with plans for sustained growth in the future.
Olivier Constant, Business Area Director at Visma, says, “This acquisition is a significant step in our mission to empower businesses with advanced digital solutions. Together, we will continue to innovate and deliver exceptional value to our customers.”
Business as usual
MyCompanyFiles will continue to operate independently under the existing management team even as it integrates into Visma. This commitment to transparency and robust industry partnerships will be maintained. The platform will retain its adaptability, allowing clients to select the optimal tools for their business needs.
“We are eager to capitalise on the synergies offered by Visma’s extensive European network, leveraging their expertise in commercial development and advanced technologies. This partnership will enable us to deliver enhanced solutions and drive sustainable growth in the French market,” added Diebold.
