Translink Corporate Finance is pleased to announce the successful completion of ID Logistics’ acquisition of Spedimex, a renowned family-owned Polish company. This milestone was reached after receiving approval from the Polish antitrust authorities, and marks one of the most important transactions in the logistics industry in the CEE region in recent years.
Spedimex holds a prominent position in the contract logistics sector in Poland, with a strong focus on fashion and ecommerce. The sale of Spedimex’s entire share capital to ID Logistics, which was initially announced in March 2023, will enable ID Logistics, a recognised leader in European logistics, to enhance its presence in Poland by gaining access to 15 new locations and prestigious clientele.
The decision to pursue this strategic acquisition stems from the remarkable alignment of cultures and similar business models shared by both companies. With an asset light approach and a commitment to providing tailored solutions through dedicated warehouses, Spedimex and ID Logistics are well-matched. Moreover, their customer portfolios and technical expertise complement each other, paving the way for significant commercial synergies, particularly for esteemed international clients.
With the acquisition of Spedimex, ID Logistics becomes a market leader in Poland with 35 sites, 7,000 employees and a portfolio of leading industrial customers, retailers and e-merchants. Under the new arrangement, Spedimex will operate under the name ID Logistics. Yann Belgy, the current Managing Director of ID Logistics in Poland, will assume leadership of the newly formed entity. Marcin Bąk, CEO of Spedimex, will facilitate a smooth transition by working alongside Yann Belgy for a period of six months.
