Translink Corporate Finance announces the sale of Swedfarm AB, a leading supplier of equipment and birds to the egg and poultry industry owned by the founding Möller family. The buyer, Storskogen, is a Swedish based investor financed by entrepreneurs and family offices. Swedfarm is the largest investment to date.
Swedfarm was founded in 1943 and has been run by the Möller family for three generations. The Company operates a hatchery in Linghem (outside Linköping) which supplies egg farmers all over Sweden with Bovans chickens from Hendrix Poultry Breeders. The strong trend to free-range and ecological egg-production has fueled demand for complete solutions to feed hens, collect eggs, indoor climate and equipment to handle and package eggs. Swedfarm represents well-known brands such as Big Dutchman, MOBA and Jansen. Last year Swedfarm’s revenues reached 29 million € and EBITDA-margin 20%.
The objective was to find a strong partner with industrial footprint and experience from development of small- and midsized companies and enable further growth. The Möller family will join as shareholders in Storskogen.
